Mission

The previous website struggled with a cluttered navigation menu, making it difficult for users to find relevant information. Additionally, critical SEO elements were largely overlooked, including meta descriptions, page titles, and the proper use of H1 and H2 tags. There was minimal attention given to building external and internal links, which are essential for improving search rankings. The homepage also lacked sufficient, engaging content, failing to highlight the shop’s offerings effectively. Addressing these issues was crucial to improving visibility for key search terms like “Violin Shop Toronto.”

Solution

To achieve the goal of improving organic traffic and rankings for Strings, Bows & More, I implemented a structured 4-step SEO plan:

  1. Navigation Menu Optimization:
    I started by completely reorganizing the site’s navigation, creating a more intuitive hierarchy that incorporated targeted keywords. This made it easier for users to navigate the site and for search engines to better understand its structure. The updated navigation is now simple, user-friendly, and keyword-optimized, ensuring both usability and SEO effectiveness.
  2. Homepage Optimization:
    The original homepage lacked essential SEO elements and did not effectively showcase the shop’s offerings. I rebuilt the homepage from the ground up, using the primary keyword “Toronto Violin Shop” as the central focus. I integrated critical SEO components, including meta descriptions, H1 and H2 tags, and engaging, keyword-rich content, ensuring the homepage could compete for top search rankings.
  3. Blog Post Optimization:
    Previously, the blog posts showed little regard for SEO principles. I revised outdated blog content by incorporating relevant keywords, enhancing both external and internal linking, and adding high-quality images. This helped improve their relevance and searchability. Moving forward, I will continue optimizing the remaining blog posts to maintain consistent performance across the site.
  4. Landing Page Creation:
    Once the foundational SEO tasks were complete, I focused on creating dedicated landing pages for the most important keywords like “Violin Store Toronto” and “Violin Luthier Toronto.” I designed a flexible landing page template that could be replicated for multiple key terms, ensuring proper use of internal and external linking, as well as H1 and H2 formatting, to further boost the pages’ visibility on search engines.

Results

Through strategic SEO improvements, Strings, Bows & More saw a significant boost in online visibility. Their homepage now ranks on the first page of Google for several key local search terms, including violins Toronto and violins near me, driving more organic traffic to the site. The streamlined navigation and optimized homepage have improved user engagement, while the enhanced blog content and targeted landing pages continue to strengthen the site’s authority. As ongoing SEO efforts continue, the website is positioned for sustained growth in search rankings and customer reach.
